Two days of comedy, music, film, visual arts and free family entertainment.
Desert Fringe will take place in and around the Port Augusta Cultural Centre, so come on down and see what all the fuss is about!

FRIDAY 26 FEBRUARY
6PM - 8PM: Desert Fringe Community Concert, Gladstone Square
Kick off a great weekend with a free community concert featuring deadly bands, roving performers and a sausage sizzle! Catch legendary band
Rough Image, formed in Raukkan twenty years ago by singer/songwriter Jimmy Rankine and
The Iwantja Band, from the Indulkana Community in the APY Lands, who play everything from reggae to rock, country to blues.
8PM - 9PM:
The Axis of Awesome: Infinity Rock Explosion!
As seen on Good News Week and the Footy Show and direct from a sold-out season at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Australia’s Most Awesome Comedy Band bring you an hilarious hour of rock comedy (romedy), musical japery and melodious jokings. 9PM - MIDNIGHT:
The Desert Fringe Club
Featuring: Adam Page Solo, a one-man musical extravaganza, Guerilla Tactics who'll be taking over the Barracks as well as cabaret comedy trio Dooda. Desert Fringe hosts singer/songwriter Warren Milera and comedian Lori Famer, local funny man Arron Lester plus special guests each night!

SATURDAY 27 FEBRUARY
12PM - 3PM: Desert Fringe Family Day
Join us in a beautiful environment of music, puppets, performers, face painting and workshops. Lots to see and be a part of on a sunny Saturday arvo in Gladstone Square! Featuring the following performances and roving artists.
12.15PM: Desert Voices Choir
Desert Voices, Port Augusta’s favourite community choir will help open Family Day.

12.30PM & 2PM: The Magic Waterhole
By Puppet Palace Projects and the Migrant Resource Centre of SA
An Aesop’s Fable style traditional African story of animals teaching humans how to live together in harmony. A joyous celebration of African culture and talent, featuring puppets, comedy, dance and percussion.
FREE. Duration 40mins.
1.15PM & 2.30PM: Fraser Hooper
Award winning clown Fraser Hooper has built a huge international following delighting audiences of all ages with his unique brand of contemporary clowning. With a nod to the great silent clowns he uses mime, audience participation, comedy juggling and eccentric dance delighting all ages in hilarious shows.

1.45PM: Singer/songwriter Robert Champion - Yamba
4PM - 5.30PM: Nosferatu - A Symphony of Horror, Institute Theatre
Presented by Matthew Timmis and Country Arts SA Locals Stages Initiative
Nosferatu, the 1922 silent film classic, is reinterpreted through the addition of a newly composed live soundtrack. Musicians from around the Port Augusta region will join together - the Desert Voices Choir, members of the Port Augusta High School Stage Band and local rockers. The combined effect will be an unique event not to be missed by any lover of horror!

8PM - 9PM: The Needle and the Damage Done by Fiona Scott-Norman
Presented by Country Arts SA in association with Pt Augusta Performing Arts (PAPA) A top ten of the worst records ever released in the history of the world. Fiona Scott-Norman’s dynamite comedy show hits Port Augusta after touring Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia from Alice to the Sydney Opera House. Featuring the vinyl posturings of John Laws, Torvill & Dean, footy players, Bernard King, white supremacists and Abigail and more!

Fun Fantasy Foto Portraits! Local identities as you have NEVER seen them before. Digitally enhanced, photographic collages that weave together aspects of the life and aspirations of the subject.

JUST COLOUR, Yarta Purtli Gallery
An exhibition of marbled designs by Georgie Sharp and Melva Waterman
Georgie and Melva are members of the Curdnatta Art Group and have been active in the local Port Augusta arts scene for many years. Both artists participate in a range of artistic mediums and constantly experiment with new ideas and create new possibilities. They have been marblers for over 20 years.
